David Ward, P.E., LEED AP founded Energy Engineering and Design in 2001 and is the principal engineer. Mr. Ward has over 25 years of experience in construction, contracting, engineering and project development of mechanical systems in the commercial, industrial, institutional and government sectors. He holds three patents for methods of HVAC and refrigeration system optimization.

For the past 15 years, David has been involved with all aspects of the development and installation of energy conservation projects. This includes; facility energy use audits, building benchmarking and modeling, retro-commissioning, project development, system design, life cycle cost analysis, construction, commissioning, and measurement and verification of energy savings.

Unique perspective is mechanic and engineer and why this give EE&D an advantage.

The Massachusetts State Division of Capital Asset Management manages approximately $280 million annually in new construction and renovation projects. These projects vary in type ranging from academic buildings for state and community colleges to courthouses, from correctional facilities to office buildings, from parks and bath houses at area beaches to skating rinks and recreational facilities.

Energy Engineering and Design, Inc. was selected to be on the standing list of firms qualified to provide Performance Contracting Program Consultation to State agencies, non-profit entities. This is a state wide contract under the jurisdiction of the Operational Services Division and allows eligible entities an exemption to the standard procurements requirements of 800 CMR 21.00 for procurement of EE&D’s services as described above.
